Agree with you, it's a bit sad that you cannot relive nostalgic moments (like that Black Mirror episode), but perhaps that's the beauty of it. Reliving a nostalgic moment over and over would make it lose its spark, and trying to recreate a nostalgic moment will always fail. Even if tomorrow we somehow get everyone back online and play one more round of good old ZE, it's never going to be the same. During the quarantine, I tried to join a similar community and even became a moderator there; everything was the same, and even better, but I was the one who was not the same, couldn't have the same fun, and couldn't create the same memories. Guess what I am trying to say is that it was while it lasted and you can always rememer these nice times from your childhood, teenage years.
I didn't expect anyone to answer, but I'm happy you did. It's interesting to see someone else still browses this forum from time to time, even though it's been around 10 years since this server officially shut down. Even after all this time, we're all somehow connected here. And what you've said is true. I've tried reliving my teenage years picking up old games I played back then, but it always ends up with me quitting after five minutes out of boredom, it never feels the same.
From what I've read, you guys tried moving the community in a new server, and I'm glad you tried. My only regret here is not trying to stay in contact with everyone back then, when people were still around this forum. I still remember all the laughter in the Skype calls. I wish I had kept some sort of contact with everyone. Anyways. I'd like to stay in touch. This is my Steam Friend Code:
Hopefully some others will reach out as well. Thanks again, Catalin.
